I was so inspired this morning by reading ‘May I Have This Dance’ by Joyce Rupp, that I felt the need to share my thoughts. It got me to thinking about neglecting “The Emmaus Quest’ which is near and dear to my heart. I have been in a stagnate place over the past couple of months feeling no direction ,and forgetting to be in prayer about it. Life’s been getting in the way. It’s not a good excuse, but that’s just how it’s been.
Reading the chapter on the month of August, led me to reminiscing about the cool evenings in the latter phase of summer. As Joyce puts it, sitting before a campfire on a cool August night can be a very contemplative experience. When new wood is placed on the burning embers, it sparks new flames. This kind of reminds me of myself lately. I feel that it's time to put some new wood on the embers. It's time to re-stoke the fire…more studying, more practice, more praying, more alone time with God.

The Journey
Susan has never been a classroom kind of girl. She’s learned through seeing, studying and being mentored, and that’s exactly how she came across the beauty of spiritual practices.
She became a part of a discipleship group that met one night a week with a two-year commitment. In her own words she says, ‘we ate, we shared, did bible study, and practiced prayer disciplines… it was a wonderful experience, and life changing for me.’ Read more...
